The gals from Angel Creek Stables adore a day on the trail.  We believe

that riding with friends while surrounded by the beautiful scenery of

northwest Arkansas is a form of heaven on earth.

At Angel Creek Stables, we truly know what it means to experience happy trails.

After a hard ride up Sugarloaf Mountain, which included cantering up several very steep hills, we give the horses a rest break.

This gives us time to snap a photo of the view from the top.  Back to front:  Deb and Nana; Joy and Copper; Alisha and Dede; Annetta and Fernie...and Vanna's ears.

The view from horseback.

Picking our way down.  Front to back:   Alisha and Dede; Carol and Vanna; Joy and Copper; and Jan and Ransom.

Whitney and Dawn (and Nana) are enjoying the ride.

Jan and Ransom are intrigued by the discussion at hand.

Sometimes we park the horses...

(Vanna is sporting her psychedelic saddle pad--her personal favorite.)

...and hike out on our own.

Doing this gives us even more appreciation for our sure-footed mounts, who carry us over some very rough terrain.

A pretty creek runs down the mountain.

We started our ride up the mountain from the Daystar Arabians Farm below.

Leaving the barn for a day on the trail:  Fortune, Nana, Vanna, Bee and Dawn.

Claire and Dawn are finished tacking up and are ready to hit the trail.

Deb and Bee with Tom and Vanna; smiling pretty for the camera.

Stopping for a picnic lunch.

Whitney and Pooh in a moment of relaxation.

One of our favorite places to ride is the Lonesome D Horse Camp in New Blaine, Arkansas.

They have many beautiful trails at Lonesome D.  When it's hot outside, this is the place to be.

A shot taken from horseback at Mount Magazine, Arkansas.

This is a favorite stopping place for our thirsty equine friends.

Its also one of ours.

Beautiful scenery is one of the nice things about trail riding in Arkansas.

Another shot taken at Lake Wells, on the property at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas (the location of Elvis Presley's basic training).

What could be better than a day on the trail with your best girlfriends?

After trail ride fellowship and relaxation.

After a wonderful day on the trail, the girls are ready to go back to the barn.
