On March 13, 2004, Angel Creek Stables lost a very special horse:  our dear, sweet Vanna.

Vanna was very kind; a quality reflected in the softness and gentleness of her eye.  Vanna was beautiful; a horse with picture book looks.  Vanna was an exceptional mover; the perfect combination of elegance, grace, flashiness and athleticism.  Vanna was tireless; there was never a horse with more heart than she.  Vanna was loving; she adored and returned affection.   Vanna was a joy to ride.  Whether it was her big, booming trot, her rocking horse canter or her gentle jog, she carried every rider with a balance and finesse only a horse with her athletic ability could produce.  On the trail, Vanna's feet were solid and sure.

We adored Vanna, and will greatly miss her at Angel Creek Stables.  She was one of a kind, and there will never be another like her.

Plain Vanilla ("Vanna") was foaled on April 4, 1986.  Registered as a National Show Horse and Half-Arabian, Vanna was a cross between a purebred American Saddlebred ("LD Delta Dawn") and a purebred Arabian ("Specialist").  Vanna's Arabian bloodlines were especially nice.  Her sire, Specialist, was by *Aladdinn, and out of Basquela, a *Bask++ daughter.

Vanna left Angel Creek Stables with three wonderful horses:  SheezaQTPie ("Nana"), Show Thyme ("Junior"), and a little one foaled only a week before Vanna left us, Vanna's Best Thyme ("Elvie").  We are so thankful to have these precious reminders of a truly great horse.
